General Summary
Wallowa County Education Service District is seeking a Medicaid Specialist with Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) and Fee-For-Service billing experience. The MAC program provides a way of reimbursing districts for claimable work already being performed by staff members in the schools. The MAC Specialist is responsible for providing live professional development training to local school district staff including building and district administrators, educators, and office personnel. The MAC Specialist works in collaboration with WESD and school district business managers and Oregon Department of Human Services. Locally, the MAC Specialist collects, compiles, and tracks data submissions in real time per state and federal guidelines. Concise and timely written and oral communication is essential to this position as are attention to detail and timelines. The successful candidate should enjoy working with people as much as they do with data.

WCESD is seeking an innovative, visionary Alternative Programs Coordinator to lead the design, development, and implementation of a new county-wide alternative education department serving students across Wallowa County. This full-time leadership position will build and oversee a comprehensive continuum of educational opportunities, including a hybrid online/in-person alternative program with hands-on S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) learning, outdoor education, traditional alternative education services, credit recovery, career-connected learning, and future innovative pathways. The successful candidate will collaborate with component school districts, community partners, and the Oregon Department of Education to develop curriculum, operational systems, staffing, policies, and student supports while ensuring compliance with state requirements. This is a unique opportunity to create a student-centered program from the ground up that expands educational access, promotes personalized learning, and supports student success throughout the county. Candidates should possess strong leadership and program development skills, a valid Oregon Teaching License, and experience in alternative education, educational leadership, or program development and have an extremely strong curriculum development background.

General Summary
The speech-language pathologist provides and oversees programs of instruction for children ages 5 through 21 years, who are eligible for communication services. The Speech-Language Pathology program operates under the Special Education Department of the ESD. Currently, the program consists of one speech-language pathologist (SLP) and one speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA). The program serves four school districts as well as the birth to five-year-old evaluations within Wallowa County and is responsible for school-age language and hearing screenings.
