Join WCESD, Enterprise, Joseph, Troy, and Wallowa school districts in shaping the future of alternative education and launching an innovative county-wide program. WCESD is seeking an innovative, visionary Alternative Programs Coordinator to lead the design, development, and implementation of a new county-wide alternative education department serving students across Wallowa County. This full-time leadership position will build and oversee a comprehensive continuum of educational opportunities, including a hybrid online/in-person alternative program with hands-on S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) learning, outdoor education, traditional alternative education services, credit recovery, career-connected learning, and future innovative pathways. The successful candidate will collaborate with component school districts, community partners, and the Oregon Department of Education to develop curriculum, operational systems, staffing, policies, and student supports while ensuring compliance with state requirements. This is a unique opportunity to create a student-centered program from the ground up that expands educational access, promotes personalized learning, and supports student success throughout the county. Candidates should possess strong leadership and program development skills, a valid Oregon Teaching License, and experience in alternative education, educational leadership, or program development and have an extremely strong curriculum development background.
