Speech and Language Services

The Wallowa County ESD has a dedicated speech-language team currently consisting of two licensed speech-language pathologists, two certified speech-language pathology assistants, and one individual in training to become a certified speech-language pathology assistant. The team provides speech-language evaluations and services to children ages 0-21. Speech-language evaluations and services are provided at school for K-12 students who qualify in all four school districts in Wallowa County. In addition, evaluations and services are provided at local preschools, through home visits, and/or at the ESD for young children. The team has experience working with students with a wide range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, social language disorders, fluency (stuttering), voice disorders, and use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
